Note | As a small girl, she resided in Gettysburg, PA during the great Civil
War battle there. |
Note | Washington death certificate: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/N3RC-781 |
Note | ALP had a brother named John who married Cecilia Yeager, FM Yeager's sister. |
Note | 1870 Census lists Amelia, 14, living with John Patterson, 50; Catherine, 44; six other kids; a domestic; and a farm hand. In Adams, County, PA. Gettysburg is the county seat of Adams Co.
Another 1870 census listing has Susan Brown Patterson with her father (John), son Samuel, and a flock of Yeagers in Dayton Illinois. I'm not sure why Amelia was in PA.
I'm also not sure which John Patterson she was living with. She had an uncle by that name, but (according to Alison Patterson http :// wc . rootsweb . ancestry .com / cgi - bin / igm . cgi ? op = GET & db = stevepat & id = I00280 ) he was born ABT 1800, not 1820. Her brother John (b 1851) is an even worse match.
I'm not sure where our Amelia was in 1870. Another census page from the same year lists Susan Brown Patterson with Samuel, 17 and hard-to-read (Nellie?), 15. Next door is the Yeagers including Frank. Frank and Amelia married in 1871. |
Note | Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Yeager Celebrate 60th Anniversary
County Agent F.D. Yeager and family, Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Vimont and Ray Hagerman and family and Miss Thora Yeager of Chehalis attended a reunion of the family of Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Yeager at Centralia Friday evening. The occasion was the sixtieth wedding anniversary of the latter, who are the parents of County Agent Yeager, Mrs Vimont, and Mrs. Hagerman. Mr. and Mrs. Yeager were married in LaSalle County, Illinois. Mr. Yeager, who is a veteran of the Civil War, is a native of Illinois, will be 84 years of age in June. Mrs Yeager, who was 75 in March, being a native of Pennsylvania. Both enjoy most excellent health. Mr Yeager's three hobbies are his church, the Methodist, of which he has been a lifelong member; going fishing three or more times a week, and enjoying his splendid garden. Mr. and Mrs. Yeager have four sons, F.D. Yeager of Chehalis; Alva of Woodward, Oklahoma; Merle of Concordia, Kansas, who came to attend the reunion; and Fred of Seattle who was also present; also three daughters, Mrs. L.A. Vimont and Mrs. Ray Hagerman of Chehalis and Mrs. Henry Andrew of Centralia. There are also thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A bounteous family dinner was a feature ofthe Friday evening gathering of the family circle.
